perfectly imperfect yogi

My husband and I get a produce box every week that contains produce that’s supposedly imperfect. We open the box and it’s full of lots of yummy fruits and vegetables.

Although, when looking at the box of produce I see it as anything but imperfect. The food each week provides nourishment to our bodies so that we can eat more plant based, we are supporting a local business by eating organic foods that they provide and organic farming practices reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.

In our practice of yoga, there are so many similarities. We nourish our bodies with our practices of asana and meditation, support our minds by providing self care and we allow mindfulness to keep up connected to the divine. We embrace all the elements of the human experience, imperfect and all.
