Investment seminars are definitely not for kids

My husband decided to sign up for a weekend seminar involving investing. For me this topic is far from exciting, so I’ll take a weekend long yoga retreat over that any day.

While he has done this research and prepared for the seminar, he had read the book that the seminar was based on, and reviewed several videos pertaining to the material. He was kind of disappointed by the content provided in some of the beginning sessions. He told me that people were coming in, and it seemed as if they knew nothing. I reminded him, that not everyone may have read the book, or maybe didn’t have time to review the other videos as he did. Sometimes you just have to meet people where they are. Sometimes you need to come into the situation with a beginners mind.

I briefly spoke about this in a social media post the other day. Approaching something as a beginner, can open up the mind to different ideas, and in yoga maybe different sensations or emotions. You might even find yourself saying, well I never thought of it that way.

So wether you are approaching your mat for the 100th time or 2nd time, approach it the same someone would for the first time, with an open heart and open mind.
